The Sandpiper

A curious little sandpiper
scurried across my beach
I was certain she had a message
something she needed to teach
- so I watched
she ran to the edge of the water
a determined little bird
this fragile little creature
would become my favorite teacher
without a word she commanded
her brilliant seas to reach
then in an instant she demanded
"oceans, please retreat"!
like a musical note
always perfectly timed
the sandpiper conducted
her symphonic tide
the sandpiper, never still
moves her waters to comply
even standing before these undertows
I know she'll never die
her faith is so strong
she's known all along
God designed His world
to teach the fragile to be strong.

Understanding the Sandpiper. You have seen the sandpipers, how they survive, living and breathing in the moment, never thinking about their fate or fearing the rushing oceans. They simply feel the air, sand and energy and they love! Their faith moves oceans and they survive. You are no more fragile than a sandpiper! Your oceans are of this world, a mere distraction; a diversion from love-to-world. You found silence and there were no losses or gains! Expectations left you and those who expected of you disappeared! There was no body! You were no longer of this world! There was nothing to overcome! Nothing to control! Nothing to fear! The pain, a feeling, was fleeting, but your faith endured! God is in you. In the moment, you are of God.
