"Far and Beyond, Geographic Journeys" Fine Art Exhibit

I'm pleased to announce that "October" (oil on canvas, 16"x 20")  has been accepted into the Artists in Middleburg juried exhibit, "Far and Beyond, Geographic Journeys."  The painting was inspired by years of fond memories of driving with my husband through the rolling hills of Virginia with the top down.  Each fall, we cruise the countryside as often as possible and on these trips, I intentionally store as many visual and sensory memories as my mind and heart will allow.  I later return to the studio to paint our journeys from memory.  "October" came as a surprise one cold, winter afternoon.  I sat down at the easel, hoping my brush would take me "far and beyond" the colorless day I was having.  Much to my delight, "October" appeared on the canvas and I was transported back in time to an afternoon when the sun was shining and the colorful leaves were celebrating the season.

Exhibition dates, March 3 - April 1.  Opening Reception, Saturday, March 3, 2-4 p.m..  Artists in Middleburg Gallery, 102 W. Washington Street, Middleburg, Virginia  20118.
